Arthur Singer-Song Birds of the World- Franklin Porcelain 1977, complete series of 12 plates

In 1980 Franklin Mint issued this beautiful limited edition series of 12 porcelain plates in cooperation with the National Audubon Society (USA).

These 12 round plates (each plate measures 27 cm in diameter) have a gold plated and will make a lovely addition to any collection. Made of high-quality fine bone China, manufactured by Wedgewood (England) these collector plates show different songbirds depicted in full colour in their natural habitat.

The plates are designed especially for this series by Arthur B. Singer (1917-1990), an American natural history illustrator and artist. Singer illustrated over 20 books, mainly about birds. He also designed a series of official state bird and flower stamps, selling over 500 million sheets and 25 billion individual stamps.
