Description:
A distinctive Japanese wooden flower vase / ikebana vessel, combining natural timber, bamboo, rope, and lacquer in a beautifully rustic construction.
The body is formed as a square wooden container with strongly figured natural grain and a warm honey-brown tone. Inside is a black lacquered container, providing a practical water-resistant vessel for arranging fresh flowers and branches.
Above the body rises a large horizontal bamboo handle, supported by two uprights wrapped tightly in thick black cord. The contrast between the pale bamboo, dark rope, natural wood, and black lacquered interior gives the piece a bold yet highly traditional appearance.
The side supports are shaped with gently curved profiles, adding a sculptural quality to the otherwise simple geometric body. Natural knots and variations in the wood remain visible, emphasizing the handmade character of the piece.
