写作当然存在，而书法则超越写作。书法对写作就像镶嵌工艺之于木工。
它是在写作所完成的沟通基础上再增加一个层次，因为-无论形式或字体为何-
纸面上或手写的一个词都有其特定含义。
书法通过增加一个视觉元素来增强实际字母，补充并强化信息。当以书法方式书写时，字母和词汇超越其基本形态，成为珍贵的物件。
在阿拉伯世界，书法被视为一门精致的艺术形式，通过其与阿拉伯花纹的关系，普及文化，应用于书籍、挂毯、清真寺内部、织物、珠宝以及可装饰的其他表面。
阿拉伯书法，亦即更恰当地说伊斯兰书法，随着伊斯兰教和阿拉伯语的发展而演进，基于阿拉伯字母。

书法笔具
将阿拉伯书法的精神与视觉元素结合起来并转化为笔的设计，montegrappa 找到了黎巴嫩艺术家兼设计师 Katya Assouad Traboulsi。
她的创意将书法与花纹花饰结合在一起，历史与文化紧密相连。
她在迪拜设有工作室，生于1960年。自1986年以来，她的作品在巴黎、华盛顿、墨西哥城、纽约、伦敦、科威特、阿尔及尔、贝鲁特、迪拜等城市展出。
她的艺术进入了加拿大、法国、瑞士、美国、英国、迪拜、科威特、沙特阿拉伯、埃及、巴林、约旦和黎巴嫩等多家私人收藏。她还出版了两本书：《Of Others》（2011）和《Generation War》（2013）。

it is the act of applying a second level to the communication which writing accomplishes, for – regardless of form or font – a word on the page or manuscript has a specific meaning.
calligraphy enhances the actual letters which form a word by adding a visual element that both complements and reinforces the message. when written calligraphically, letters and words transcend their basic forms and become precious items.
to the arab world, calligraphy is considered an exquisite art form that empowers culture through its relationship to the arabesque patterns that adorn books, tapestries, the interiors of mosques, textiles, jewellery and other surfaces that invite decoration. arabic, or equally appropriately, islamic calligraphy has evolved alongside both islam and the arabic language, and is based on arabic letters.

the calligraphy pens
to couple together the spiritual and visual elements of arabic calligraphy, and to translate them into a pen design, montegrappa turned to the lebanese artist and designer, katya assouad traboulsi. her creativity marries the calligraphy and the arabesque pattern, which are intricately bound together by history and culture.
based in dubai, traboulsi was born in 1960. since 1986, her work has been exhibited in paris, washington, mexico city, new york, london, kuwait, algiers, beirut, dubai and other capitals.

traboulsi’s design for the montegrappa calligraphy pen features an elegant arabesque medallion in silver as a cap top and an exquisite interplay of enamel arabesque patterns in mother-of-pearl white, red and green.
the pen barrel is characterised by its arabic calligraphy phrase, virtuously embossed on a silver background.
the phrase literally reads: “the pen transports culture”, and the symbolism of this phrase is that the pen has been the instrument of transmitting knowledge and culture through time and across generations.

available as a fountain pen only the calligraphy writing instruments are made of bamboo black celluloid with sterling silver trim.
the fountain pen is fitted with an 18k gold nib enhanced with a bicolour arabesque motif. delivered in a hand-made wooden case devised to protect the pen, it also houses a hardback version of the special book, “arabic calligraphy: worlds made precious” (english version).

desde sus remotos orígenes hace aproximadamente unos 5.000 años en las áreas geográficas de egipto, mesopotamia y china, la escritura se constituyó en un instrumento esencial para el avance y desarrollo de la civilización
por su trascendental papel en la transmisión y la pervivencia de las más variadas ideas y conocimientos, las creencias y, en general, del acervo cultural humano acumulado durante siglos,
pero también de aspectos más mundanos como las transacciones comerciales, las relaciones diplomáticas o, simplemente, la comunicación entre particulares.
tras unos titubeantes momentos iniciales en los que ésta se componía de pictogramas, la escritura fue derivando hacia sistemas fonéticos que,
a diferencia de sus antecedentes más inmediatos, permitían plasmar conceptos abstractos, pronombres, tiempos verbales…
a esto se sumaría una interesante evolución en la que se pasó de formas sencillas como la escritura cuneiforme a fórmulas más elaboradas que acabarían por añadir en muchos casos,
a la citada dimensión conceptual, una vocación estética que iba más allá del simple hecho comunicativo.
buena muestra de este papel artístico de la escritura se puede encontrar en la cultura islámica, en la que, ya desde la edad media,
encontramos innumerables ejemplos en los que, además de en sus cada vez más ricos manuscritos, confeccionados con rudimentarias plumas y tintas de colores,
essa se fue trasladando igualmente a sus monumentos más celebrados como un elemento decorativo más, un vehículo para la transmisión de ideas políticas, filosóficas o religiosas que aspiraba además a alcanzar un cometido estético
con hermoseados pasajes incorporados en las yeserías, azulejos e incrustaciones en madera y piedra que pueblan con profusión techos, vigas o lienzos murales de mezquitas y recintos palaciales de la talla de la alhambra de granada.
es a esta segunda vertiente de la escritura y, más en concreto, a la caligrafía árabe, a la que pretende rendir tributo la prestigiosa firma italiana montegrappa con una impresionante pieza de edición limitada: la pluma estilográfica montegrappa calligraphy.

para el diseño y elaboración de este espectacular instrumento de escritura, montegrappa ha contado con la colaboración de la artista y diseñadora libanesa katya assouad traboulsi.
nacida en 1960 y radicada en dubai, desde 1986 la obra de esta reconocida creadora ha sido expuesta con gran éxito en ciudades como parís, londres, nueva york, washington o ciudad de méxico, entre muchas otras.

su propuesta para esta primorosa estilográfica consiste en un suntuoso cuerpo elaborado con plata esterlina sobre el que se encuentra grabada,
con el singular atractivo que caracteriza a la delicada caligrafía árabe, una frase que resume espléndidamente la importancia de la palabra escrita en la historia de la humanidad:
“la escritura transmite el conocimiento a través del tiempo”.

por su parte, el motivo ornamental elegido para su soberbio capuchón es el del arabesco, recurso decorativo compuesto de tracerías, roleos y elementos vegetales
que ha gozado desde siempre de gran implantación en el arte islámico y cobra aquí nueva vida con notable elegancia y exquisito refinamiento, tanto en el espléndido medallón de plata calada
que lo corona como en el resto de su superficie, animada por un precioso patrón arabesco de entrelazos realizados con madreperla blanca, roja y verde.

este delicioso motivo ornamental se repite igualmente en su portentoso plumín, un extraordinario elemento fabricado en oro macizo de 18 quilates
con un bello acabado bicolor que, haciendo honor al objeto de su homenaje, fino (f).

se presenta en un bonito estuche ornamentado con dorada caligrafía árabe sobre un llamativo fondo rojo que, a su vez, alberga en su interior una magnífica caja de madera
