An elegant large natsume (tea caddy) by lacquer artist and tea master Soetsu Nakamura, decorated in gold maki-e with the classical "taga-sode" (类似袖子的意象) 图案——以金漆绘成的竖状服袖造型悬垂于乌黑光泽底面之上，纹饰以金、银、红色的菊花和几何格纹丰富呈现。精致的黑漆光泽与金色袖状设计之间的相互呼应，体现了中村对于传统蒔绘工艺的娴熟掌握，以及他在茶道美学上的深厚底蕴。附原装的 tomobako 箱与 tomonuno 包布。

【Artist Profile】

Soetsu Nakamura (b.1932) was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, a region renowned for its Wajima lacquerware tradition. He began learning kyu-urushi lacquer technique from his father in 1946 and, in 1967, received instruction in the way of tea from Sowa Nakao. He won the Forestry Agency Director-General's Award at the National Lacquerware Exhibition in 1979, the Governor's Award at the National Lacquerware Store Exhibition in 1982, and the Refined Lacquer Cooperative Association Award in 1983. In 1987 he was granted the tea name "Sokyo," and in 1992 was conferred the rank of associate professor of tea ceremony. In 1994 he received ceramic instruction from Yoichi Ueno, and in 1996 his work was selected for the Ishikawa Prefecture Exhibition.
