Unlike conventional symmetrical Berber rugs, this piece is organised as a succession of irregular shapes, fine lines and contrasting areas. The design evokes an imaginary landscape, with architectural forms, vegetation and free graphic symbols appearing throughout the pile.
Hand-knotted in Morocco using high-quality natural sheep’s wool, the rug has the dense structure and luxurious softness associated with M’rirt production. Variations in pile height reinforce the individual elements and create a richly textured surface.
