Chinese porcelain small dolls house vase – China – Kangxi period 17th Century
On offer is a small Kangxi period dolls house vase from Chinese porcelain with floral decorations all around. Identical dolls house vases like this one have been found in the Vung Tau cargo, coming from a ship heading to Batavia but sunken nearby Vung Tau in Vietnam in the late 17th Century. This offered vase is not from that cargo.
Note; This vase is a typical Kangxi period example, highly collectable by wealthy ladies in the West, into the first quarter of the 18t century. Those miniatures were collected to put them into dolls houses nor rarity cabinets. Some dolls houses survived including the puppets and small vases and other house hold items (Schloss Arnstadt, Germany). However, some experts on Chinese porcelain believe that they were also given to the VOC merchants to take back home, as examples of what could be made (in real size) in China! A rare and interesting object! Provenance: From our own private collection.
Date: Kangxi period 1662-1722 ca. 1690.
Size: Measures ca. 4cm in height and 2cm across.
Condition: Excellent! No damage. No frits, no chips, no hairlines!
Will be packed very well and shipped with registered track/trace with insurance. Combined shipping possible, we return postage costs.
