The Canon F-1 was developed as the centre of Canon’s professional FD-mount 35mm SLR system. Its interchangeable viewfinder and focusing-screen design provided a platform that could be configured for different kinds of photography. A robust body and direct shutter-speed and aperture controls give it the deliberate handling associated with classic professional film cameras.

The original factory olive drab Canon F-1 is a rare collector’s model. This example has been professionally repainted in Japan to faithfully recreate the original version’s distinctive appearance.

This item has been carefully inspected and serviced in Japan. I restore and maintain cameras and also receive maintenance requests from camera shops in Japan.

■ Appearance
The overall appearance is very clean. The olive drab repaint has been carefully finished in Japan. The light seals have been replaced to help prevent light leaks, and the fresh seals also give the camera a clean, well-maintained appearance. Please refer to the photos for the detailed cosmetic condition.

■ Viewfinder
The viewfinder is very clear, providing a good view for focusing and composing photographs. The viewfinder has also been cleaned as part of the service.

■ Functional
The item has been inspected and tested. The main functions checked are operating normally. The shutter speeds have also been measured and adjusted as part of the service.
