Vintage Japanese Woodworking Chisels – 10 Chisels & 1 Chisel Blade – Set of 11

Item Description

A collection of 11 vintage Japanese woodworking tools, consisting of 10 traditional chisels with wooden handles and 1 separate chisel blade without a handle.

The set includes chisels of various lengths, blade widths, and profiles, ranging from narrow precision-type blades to broader woodworking chisels. The different forms make this an interesting assortment of traditional Japanese workshop tools.

The chisels feature wooden handles with iron or steel blades and fittings. Individual pieces differ in construction, finish, and degree of wear, reflecting their age and history of use.

As shown in the photographs, these are vintage used tools in unrestored condition. There is visible rust, oxidation, discoloration, scratches, stains, blade wear, and general age-related deterioration. The wooden handles and metal fittings also show wear and marks from use.

Cleaning, rust removal, sharpening, restoration, and other maintenance should be expected before practical use. They are offered in their present condition, with the aged patina largely preserved.

One additional piece consists of a chisel blade only, without a wooden handle. Please note that this piece will require an appropriate handle or restoration if intended for use.

Please carefully examine all photographs for the condition of each blade, cutting edge, handle, fitting, rust, and other signs of age. The photographs taken with a measuring tape should also be used as a reference for dimensions.

Due to the current international postal situation in the Middle East, Japan Post has currently suspended shipments to Cyprus; therefore, shipments to Cyprus will be sent using a carrier other than Japan Post.
