Eclipse · Silver Orbit is a unique original work created in 2023 by contemporary artist Maria Ruisi. Built through a research-driven process combining geometry, material and light, the painting develops a powerful visual language around eclipse, orbit, balance and celestial movement.

Large circular and semicircular forms intersect with precise vertical and horizontal axes. Deep black and midnight tones create visual weight, while luminous silver metallic pigments introduce reflection and movement.

At the centre, a circular element acts almost like a gravitational point: the surrounding forms appear to rotate, intersect and balance around it. The composition evokes orbital trajectories and celestial mechanics without becoming a literal representation of space.

About the artist

Maria Ruisi (b. 1983, Riga, Latvia) is a contemporary artist whose practice brings together artistic creation, research and experimentation with materials.

Her work explores relationships between geometry, structure, movement, texture and light. Through layered acrylic, pigments, resin and sculptural surfaces, she creates compositions in which controlled geometric systems interact with the physical behaviour of materials.

Rather than functioning simply as decoration, geometry becomes a language through which Ruisi investigates balance, tension, movement and spatial perception.
