María Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that hers was art. She began her training at the Escuela de Artes Decorativas de Madrid, and graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in the painting specialty in 1993. Later she completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of contests such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Women and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones… her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, is also part of the collections of municipalities such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, and the Diputación de Alicante…
She has held dozens of solo and group exhibitions in Spain and abroad, and her work is also in numerous private collections worldwide.
Her hardworking and enthusiastic attitude has led her to participate in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers and everything that allows her to express everything she carries inside. Her work always reveals the phase she is going through, her vitality and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with a mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness.
