antiqued & Vintage Porcelain Pin Cushion Dolls – Set of 3 – Art Deco / Boudoir Half Dolls

Charming collection of three antique/vintage porcelain pin-cushion and boudoir dolls, believed to date broadly from the early 20th century and including lovely Art Deco-style examples.

Each doll has her own individual character and retains a vintage textile pin-cushion skirt.

1. Blue-Grey Haired Half Doll – 9.5 cm Overall

Petite porcelain half doll depicting an elegant lady with delicately painted facial features, rosy cheeks and red lips. She has moulded pale blue-grey hair and wears a pastel pink bodice with flared sleeves and a soft yellow shawl-style collar.

Her separately modelled arms are posed with her hands on her hips. She is mounted into a traditional champagne/cream satin pin cushion with layers of delicate vintage lace. Several pearl-headed pins remain in the cushion.

2. Black-Haired Art Deco Half Doll – 8 cm Overall

Pretty porcelain lady with glossy black bobbed hair and delicately hand-painted facial features. She wears a pale pink bodice with a white ruffled neckline and holds a small orange/red flower against her chest.

She retains her pale peach/pink satin pin-cushion skirt, heavily decorated with gathered and looped ribbonwork.

3. Blonde Art Deco / Flapper Doll with Full Legs – 10 cm Overall

An especially decorative example depicting an elegant young lady in a distinctly 1920s/Art Deco style. She has short blonde waved hair and a draped bodice decorated with hand-painted green and mauve/purple accents.

Unlike a traditional half doll, this example has complete porcelain legs, elegantly crossed beneath the skirt and finished with painted gold shoes.

She retains her champagne/gold-coloured fabric pin-cushion skirt, gathered into large petal-like folds around the figure.

Condition

The porcelain figures appear to be in good antique/vintage condition overall, with no obvious major chips or cracks visible.

As expected with pieces of this age, the original textile skirts show varying degrees of fading, discolouration, fraying, loose threads and general age-related deterioration. There is also some wear/discolouration to the painted decoration on the blonde doll, particularly around the hair.
