A very rare and well-preserved fossil lungfish tooth plate preserved on its original rock matrix, discovered from the Jurassic strata of Chongqing within the Sichuan Basin, China.

Lungfish are iconic "living fossils" with specialized jaw plates evolved for crushing hard-shelled prey like freshwater crustaceans and mollusks. This specimen features striking black mineralization, crisp radiating ridge crests, and dense microscopic pores. A highly collectable aquatic specimen representing the prehistoric freshwater ecosystem of Southwest China.
