Wajima Lacquerware Flower Vase with Gold Chinkin Pine Design by Takahito Zenko

This is a beautiful Wajima lacquerware flower vase decorated with a delicate pine motif in traditional Chinkin (gold-inlay engraving) technique, created by Takahito Zenko (前古孝人), a Wajima lacquerware craftsman specializing in Chinkin.

The vase features a deep, glossy black lacquer surface with an elegant pine design finely engraved and inlaid with gold. The delicate lines and detailed pine needles create a refined and sophisticated appearance, beautifully contrasting with the black lacquer ground.

Takahito Zenko was born in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, and studied lacquer decoration and Chinkin techniques at the Wajima Lacquer Art Technical Training Institute. He has worked extensively as a Chinkin craftsman and has also served as chairman of the Wajima Chinkin Association. His work includes both traditional and contemporary decorative designs.

The vase comes with its original wooden display stand/base and presentation box. The back of the box retains a manufacturer’s/product label stating that the material is natural wood and the surface coating is lacquer.
