A collectible set of two Japanese Rainbow albums on three vinyl records, featuring the 1975 debut album Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (银嶺の覇者) and the 1977 double live album On Stage.

These recordings capture the celebrated early period of Rainbow featuring Ritchie Blackmore on guitar and Ronnie James Dio on vocals.

The collection includes classic Rainbow performances such as “Man On The Silver Mountain,” “Catch The Rainbow,” “The Temple Of The King,” “Sixteenth Century Greensleeves,” “Still I'm Sad” and “Kill The King.”

Both Japanese editions retain their OBI strips and inserts.

Japanese pressing of Rainbow’s debut album, released in Japan in November 1975.

The album features Ritchie Blackmore on guitar and Ronnie James Dio on vocals, supported by Craig Gruber, Gary Driscoll and Mickey Lee Soule.

Recorded at Musicland Studios, the album was produced by Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio and Martin Birch.

This Japanese edition comes in a gatefold sleeve with its distinctive OBI and insert containing English lyrics and Japanese liner notes.

About This Collection

This collection focuses on the Ritchie Blackmore / Ronnie James Dio era of Rainbow and combines an early studio album with a major live release.

Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, issued in Japan in 1975, was the band’s debut album and established the musical partnership between Blackmore and Dio.

Songs such as “Man On The Silver Mountain,” “Catch The Rainbow” and “The Temple Of The King” became closely associated with this early Rainbow period.

On Stage, released in 1977, presents the band in a live setting, with significantly extended performances. The 15-minute “Catch The Rainbow” and 12-minute “Mistreated” demonstrate the more expansive concert arrangements of the band.
