About This Collection

This collection brings together two Japanese pressings by T. Rex and David Bowie, two artists closely associated with the development and international popularity of British rock in the 1970s.

T. Rex’s The Slider represents the early-1970s glam-rock era. This 1972 Japanese Odeon EOP-80565 edition is presented in a gatefold sleeve and includes some of the group’s best-known recordings, notably “Metal Guru” and “Telegram Sam.”

David Bowie’s Tonight comes from a very different stage of his career. This 1984 Japanese EMI America EYS-91092 edition reflects Bowie’s mid-1980s pop-rock and synth-pop direction and includes “Loving The Alien” and “Blue Jean.”
