Description

A striking vintage Movado with an unusually large case size for its period.

With its 38.2 mm case diameter, this watch can be considered Jumbo Size for a vintage dress watch. It is powered by a Movado Factories Calibre 6550 manual-winding movement with 15 jewels, clearly visible in the photographs.

The main highlight of this watch is its distinctive tropical dial. The dial displays pronounced, uneven colour changes and spotting developed naturally over time, giving it a highly characteristic vintage tropical appearance.

The dial features the Movado signature, applied hour markers, Arabic numerals and a small-seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.

The case has a gold-coloured finish, while the stainless-steel case back is marked “Fond Acier Inoxydable – Fabrication Suisse”. The case back also bears the numbers 58176 / 118018.

The watch is offered in vintage condition, with age-related marks and signs of wear to the case. The dial shows the pronounced tropical patina described above. Please carefully examine all photographs for the overall condition.

The watch is fitted with an aftermarket/non-original leather strap, not an original Movado strap.
