This unusual piece features a crescent moon-shaped hanging vessel decorated with a traditional pine and bird motif.

One of its most distinctive features is the sculptural suspension system. Two small monkeys are incorporated into the elongated hanging structure, using their arms and tails to form an interconnected chain from which the crescent-shaped flower vessel is suspended.

The combination of the crescent moon form, natural motifs and playful monkey figures gives the piece a highly distinctive Japanese decorative character.

A removable kenzan (flower frog) is included, allowing flowers or branches to be arranged inside the crescent-shaped vessel. It can therefore be used as an ikebana flower vase as well as displayed on its own as a decorative Japanese cast-iron object.

The textured surface and warm brown patina give the piece an attractive Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, particularly suitable for traditional Japanese, Japandi and minimalist interiors.

The original storage box with a Japanese label marked “Nambu Ironware / Shoundo” is included.

As this is a vintage item, there are signs of age and use, including surface wear, patina and minor marks. Please carefully examine the photographs for the condition.
