The natural colour of The Macallan is derived entirely from the interaction between our new make spirit and exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks. Years of maturation allow the whisky to develop a complex aroma, texture, depth of flavour and spectrum of beautifully radiant colours.
The Sherry Oak 110 Proof is a 12 Years Old single malt that showcases the influence of exceptional sherry seasoned European oak casks, delivering aromas of sticky dates, cherry compote, cinnamon, cacao nibs and dried orange slices. On the palate, rich oak, sultanas, stem ginger, star anise, mandarin and dark chocolate coated espresso beans with a finish of treacle toffee, mocha and sweet cinnamon. 'Proof' is a traditional measure of alcohol strength, where 110 Proof is equivalent to 55% abv.
