Antique Japanese Silk Kimono – Vibrant Orange-Red with White Chrysanthemum Motifs – Traditional Floral Design
Item Description
A beautiful antique Japanese women’s kimono, crafted from silk (shōken) with a soft, supple drape and an elegant smooth texture.
The kimono features a rich orange-red ground decorated with large white chrysanthemum motifs. The bold chrysanthemums are arranged across the garment with generous spacing, creating a striking contrast against the vivid silk. Subtle woven traditional patterns can also be seen within the ground fabric, adding depth and refinement when viewed from different angles.
The chrysanthemum is one of Japan’s most traditional and celebrated floral motifs, and the combination of the dramatic white flowers and warm orange-red ground gives this antique kimono a particularly impressive presence.
This is an antique/vintage piece. There is a small area of staining on the back of the left shoulder, as shown in the final condition photograph. Apart from this, the kimono remains in very attractive overall condition for its age, with the silk retaining a beautiful appearance and character. Please carefully review all photographs, as they form an important part of the condition description.
Please note that colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting conditions and your monitor or device settings.
