Sokomutu is the indigenous Hemba term, which translates as "almost human". Sokomutu 是 Hemba 土著用语，意为“近乎人类”。The characters were looked upon as frightening, symbolising mischief, disaster and fear of death, through, among others, the ape's grinning mouth. 这些人物被视为可怕的象征，代表恶作剧、灾难和对死亡的恐惧，尤其通过猿猴咧嘴的嘴形体现。
