卖家的描述
A Japanese six-panel folding screen painted in gold dust, ink and delicate pigments on paper, depicting a refined landscape featuring an extensive temple complex, mountainous scenery, boats and small villages arranged along a tranquil waterway.
The composition is carefully balanced, harmonising architecture and nature through alternating open spaces and finely rendered details. Horizontal bands of gold dust drift across the landscape like luminous veils of mist, creating depth and guiding the eye through successive planes towards the distant mountains.
The refined draughtsmanship and subtle atmospheric treatment transform the landscape into a place of quiet contemplation, where human presence exists in perfect harmony with the natural world. Signed Watanabe Tōryū ga.
The screen is finished with silk borders and a lacquered wooden frame.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
In Japanese culture, the crane (tsuru) is a symbol of longevity, fidelity and good fortune. Traditionally believed to live for a thousand years, it is associated with auspicious occasions, prosperity and enduring harmony, and frequently appears in celebratory and courtly imagery.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with stains, small holes, and restoration to the fifth panel (picture n.6). Losses to the silk border. Defects to the lacquer frame. The lower silk border has been replaced. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
