Liquid Luxury is a unique abstract painting created by Samia Kerkeni in 2024 through acrylic pouring, artistic pigments, metallic-gold accents and mixed fluid techniques.

Against an expansive luminous-white ground, currents of deep navy, turquoise, mineral blue, bronze and gold travel across the canvas. The pigments drift, collide and dissolve, forming an elegant composition suspended between fluid movement and minimalist space.

The painting explores the moment when control and unpredictability meet. Kerkeni guides the direction, density and interaction of the colours while allowing the natural behaviour of liquid pigment to create intricate organic formations that cannot be reproduced identically.

The result is a refined and contemporary composition in which fluidity becomes both the technique and the subject.

A BALANCE BETWEEN ENERGY AND MINIMALISM

The generous white areas create breathing space around the flowing pigments. This openness gives the composition its distinctive sense of clarity, balance and visual luxury.

The darker navy and mineral-blue passages establish depth and structure. Turquoise introduces freshness and movement, while bronze and gold bring warmth, elegance and luminous intensity.

The metallic accents do not dominate the composition. They appear gradually between translucent blues and darker forms, catching surrounding light and revealing new reflections according to the viewing position.

From a distance, Liquid Luxury appears calm and architectural. Viewed closely, it reveals a complex network of cells, currents, pigment transitions and metallic details.

FLUID PAINTING PROCESS

The work was created using a controlled acrylic pouring process.

Kerkeni worked with fluid acrylic colours and artistic pigments of different densities, directing their movement across the canvas while preserving the spontaneous reactions occurring between the materials.

The pigments merge, separate and reorganise themselves into natural structures. Certain areas evoke water, mineral formations, polished stone, marble or landscapes observed from above, yet the composition never resolves into a fixed image.

This openness allows every viewer to discover a personal interpretation within the work.

The smallest lines, cells and chromatic transitions were produced during the physical interaction of the pigments. They cannot be recreated in exactly the same form, making Liquid Luxury a genuinely unique and unreproducible original artwork.

GOLD, LIGHT AND MATERIALITY

Gold plays an essential role in the composition.

Rather than functioning as decoration, the metallic pigment acts as a source of warmth and visual rhythm. It creates bridges between cool blue passages and the luminous white background.

The gold subtly changes according to natural or artificial lighting. Direct light strengthens its metallic intensity, while softer illumination creates a restrained and sophisticated glow.

This evolving relationship with light gives the artwork a living presence within an interior.

PROTECTIVE FINISH

The completed surface has been treated with a professional protective acrylic medium.

This finish provides enhanced resistance to UV exposure and atmospheric humidity while helping preserve the depth, brilliance and stability of the colours and metallic pigments.

As with all original artworks, the painting should be displayed away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive moisture and extreme temperature variations.

Born in 1980, Samia Kerkeni is a contemporary artist whose practice explores matter, colour, movement and the changing interaction between pigment and light.

A doctor and researcher, she brings a spirit of experimentation, precision and continuous observation to her artistic practice.

Inspired by oceans, invisible currents, mineral formations and the metamorphosis of matter, Kerkeni creates abstract compositions in which colour behaves like a living force.

Working with acrylic, artistic pigments, pouring and mixed techniques, she balances controlled composition with the spontaneous movement of fluid materials. Every layer, transition and chromatic interaction contributes to a visual experience that is simultaneously powerful, elegant and contemplative.

Each artwork is entirely created by hand and possesses an individual material structure that cannot be reproduced identically.
