This painting presents an attractive still life composed of two large red apples, a yellow fruit and several vegetables arranged on a dark surface. The scene is characterized by a simple and balanced composition, in which each element occupies a carefully thought-out position. The combination of intense colors on a sober background makes the foods stand out clearly and turns a group of everyday objects into a serene, intimate and presence-filled image.

The two apples dominate the composition and are placed in the central and right areas of the work. Their large volumes, rounded shapes and intense reddish tones immediately draw the eye. The apple on the left appears slightly receded, while the one on the right comes forward and takes on greater prominence. This difference in position creates depth and prevents both fruits from seeming placed on the same plane.

The apple on the left combines muted reds, violets, browns and delicate pink highlights. Its surface shows a play of lights and shadows that helps define its rounded shape. The small dark stem emerging from its top introduces a slanted line and adds a natural detail that gently breaks the regularity of the set.

To the right is the brighter apple with greater visual presence. Its color ranges from intense red, burgundy and pink, with a wide light area suggesting the reflection of light on the fruit’s skin. The deep shadow on its left side increases the sense of volume, while the vertical stem stands out against the background and reinforces the piece’s height.

In front of the apples appears a yellow-green fruit, possibly a lemon, whose luminosity contrasts with the reddish tones of the rest of the composition. Its rounded shape and light surface generate a light point in the lower left area. The greens, yellows and whites that traverse its volume make it seem fresh and radiant, adding variety to the color palette.

In the foreground is a reddish elongated vegetable, probably a bell pepper, placed horizontally. Its position guides the gaze from the left edge toward the center of the still life. The reds, pinks and burgundies visually relate to the apples, creating a chromatic continuity among the scene’s elements. Its curved silhouette also introduces a different form against the round volumes of the fruits.

Next to the foods appears a green vegetable mass that could correspond to leaves or another small pepper. This area extends irregularly beneath the apples and provides a fresh, natural note. Light and dark greens create a complementary contrast with the reds, while visually connecting the yellow fruit with the main elements.

The lighting seems to come from the upper left, especially illuminating the lemon and the frontal area of the apple on the right. Shadows accumulate between the objects and behind them, allowing the depths to be distinguished. This play between light and shadow gives solidity to the forms and creates a tranquil atmosphere, as if the foods had been observed in a moment of absolute silence.

The background is dominated by a uniform greenish-gray tone that envelops the scene without distracting attention. Its neutral character enhances the colors of the fruits and vegetables, especially the reds and yellows.
