罕见的完整海洋爬行动物化石——Honghesaurus longicaudalis
Origin: Luoping County, Yunnan Province, China (Luoping Biota)
Geological Age: Middle Triassic (Anisian Stage, approx. 244 Million Years Ago)
Taxonomy: Reptilia - Sauropterygia - Pachypleurosauria - Honghesaurus
Specimen Details: Exceptional fully articulated specimen with complete body outline, clear skull, paddle-like limbs, and its characteristic ultra-long, slender tail. Framed and ready for display.
Description:
An extraordinary and highly detailed fossil skeleton of Honghesaurus longicaudalis, a small marine reptile belonging to the pachypleurosaur group from the famous Middle Triassic Luoping Biota in Yunnan, China.
Honghesaurus is renowned for having one of the highest numbers of caudal vertebrae among pachypleurosaurs, giving it a striking, whip-like long tail used for efficient lateral undulation in Triassic seas. This specimen displays museum-grade preservation: the skull, cervical vertebrae, delicate ribs, digits, and the entire extended tail are sharply articulated against the natural limestone matrix. An incredible display piece for premium fossil collectors.
