卖家的描述
Cilicia, Hierapolis-Castabala.
Ca. 2nd-1st century BC.
Æ (Bronze, 13 mm, 2.1 g).
Obv: Turreted head of Tyche right.
Rev: IEPΟΠOΛΙΤΩΝ ΠPOC ΠYPAMΩI. Pine tree.
Reference: SNG Paris 2210.
Hierapolis-Castabala stood near the Pyramos River in the fertile Cilician plain. Its title, meaning “Sacred City,” reflected the importance of the sanctuary of Artemis Perasia, whose worship preserved local Anatolian traditions within a Greek civic setting. In the first century BC, the city enjoyed the patronage of the dynast Tarkondimotos, whose alliances with Rome illustrate Cilicia’s passage from Hellenistic kingdoms to Roman dominance.
