卖家的描述
Description:
This Arita ware matcha tea bowl is decorated in underglaze blue with a densely rendered ‘tako-karakusa’ (octopus-vine) pattern. Using the sometsuke technique, cobalt pigment is applied to the white porcelain body, then covered with a clear glaze and fired at high temperature.
The continuous scroll motif extends across the interior well and continues uninterrupted over the exterior surface, reaching down toward the foot ring. The foot ring itself remains unglazed, revealing the white porcelain body. Near the foot, the artist’s signature is carved into the base.
The bowl is accompanied by its original wooden box (tomobako), inscribed with the item name and bearing the artist’s signature and seal, along with a yellow cloth and a biographical leaflet.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 13.3 cm
Height: 7.8 cm
Weight: 335 g
Condition:
No chips, cracks or restorations.
Artist Profile:
Fujii Kinsai (b. 1976) was born in Arita, Saga Prefecture. He studied at the Arita College of Ceramics and apprenticed under Inoue Manji, a designated Living National Treasure for white porcelain. He also studied under Kajiwara Shigemasu and Terui Ichigen.
