Although a specialist in bookplates, the Bayreuth artist was a master landscape and ornamentalist. Much of his work recreates the nature of the Upper Franconia region, with a recurring focus on trees, rock formations, and mountain landscapes. His etchings seem sublime to us in composition and technique.
