Horst Janssen (1929–1995) - Lithograph from 1966

Horst Janssen (1929-95 Hamburg)

Lithograph from 1966 edited for the exhibition at the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart (Kunstgebäude am Schlossplatz).
Dimensions: 87.5 x 62 cm
Well-preserved, with minimal handling marks and slight scuffing along the edges of the work.

Late Expressionism and Informalism of the German artist in his famous posters of the 60s. Janssen used to focus obsessively on self-portraiture, distorted anatomy, decay and existential introspection. The figure, hunched over what appear to be skeletal hands or abstract organic forms, evokes a sense of vulnerability.
