Wayne Shorter – Speak No Evil
A fantastic Liberty US stereo pressing of Wayne Shorter’s highly acclaimed Speak No Evil, released in 1966 on Blue Note (BST 84194). With Van Gelder stamp in deadwax. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio on December 24, 1964, this is one of the highlights of Shorter’s legendary Blue Note period, blending hard bop, modal jazz and sophisticated post-bop compositions.
Shorter is joined by an exceptional lineup: Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Elvin Jones on drums. The album features classics such as Witch Hunt, Speak No Evil, Infant Eyes and Wild Flower. This copy also has the desirable Van Gelder stamp in the dead wax, confirming the original mastering by Rudy Van Gelder.
Condition: Cover VG+, with some light signs of age and handling but still presenting very well. Vinyl EX, clean and well preserved with only minor signs of use. A beautiful copy of one of Wayne Shorter’s essential Blue Note recordings.
