Created during the height of the Victorian/Edwardian fascination with maritime exploration and nautical motifs, this piece is masterfully carved in the form of a ship’s helm (wheel) mounted on a tapered binnacle-style stand. A delightful and functional bonus feature is a small, inset miniature compass positioned at the top of the stand, just behind the wheel.
