Original vintage Soviet Vostok “Komandirskie” mechanical wristwatch, produced by the Chistopol Watch Factory in the USSR.

A highly characteristic example of one of the most recognisable Soviet wristwatches, featuring the classic “Командирские” (Komandirskie) inscription, Vostok factory emblem and distinctive red Soviet star on the dial.

An important advantage of this particular watch is that it has been fully serviced by a professional watchmaker. The movement has been professionally inspected and serviced.

The watch features an attractive champagne / light gold-coloured dial with applied hour markers, luminous hour dots and luminous-filled hands. The red central seconds hand and Soviet red star give the dial its unmistakable period appearance.

A date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.

The watch is fitted with the characteristic rotating graduated bezel marked 10–20–30–40–50 and a vintage metal bracelet.

The reverse of the watch features the characteristic Soviet Vostok case construction and an engraved stainless-steel case back with Cyrillic inscription “Водонепроницаемые” (“Water-resistant”).

These watches are strongly associated with Soviet military-inspired watchmaking and today are popular collectibles among enthusiasts of USSR militaria, Cold War memorabilia and vintage Soviet watches.

The watch has been fully serviced by a professional watchmaker.

The watch shows visible signs of age and previous use, including scratches, surface wear, patina and noticeable wear to the plating of the case and bezel. These traces are clearly visible and are consistent with the age and history of the watch.

Nothing concerning the condition has been intentionally hidden.

Despite its age and visible cosmetic wear, the watch retains a very attractive and authentic Soviet appearance. The dial with its Cyrillic Komandirskie inscription and red star remains particularly characteristic.

As with any vintage mechanical watch, absolute accuracy comparable to a modern quartz watch cannot be guaranteed.

Although the case back bears the original Soviet “Water-resistant” designation, due to the age of the watch its original water resistance is not guaranteed. The watch should therefore not be exposed to water unless professionally pressure-tested.
