Beautiful vintage hand-woven rug, featuring a richly detailed traditional floral design from Romania.
The design layout is composed of 4 medallions set symetrically against a striking black background with ornate baroque-style framing. Each medallion consists of an unique bouquet of stylized flowers and botanical motifs in shades of yellow, pink, purple, turquoise and white.
The rug is a charming example of traditional Romanian folk weaving, with an authentic vintage character, made of Wool on a cotton warp, hand-woven by groups of women from Smîrdan village, province of Dolj, on a traditional loom. It is framed by black borders with decorative fringe along the shorter sides.
It’s natural woven texture and large size is suitable for adding character, color, and a touch of Eastern European folk art to a living room, bedroom or eclectic interior.
The rug is in an overall good condition, little flaws and signs of the use and time according to it’s age. It is between 40 and 50 years old.

The rug has never been used and is brand new.
For year long preservation moth-repellent solutions have been and are used.
