Authentic Romanian Scoarta / Laicer Runner 120x290 cm - 100% Hand-Spun Wool - Fully Reversible - Rose Pattern - Moldova 1960s

Authentic traditional Romanian textile - Scoarta / Laicer / Wall Hanging - handwoven in the Moldova region of Romania, circa 1960-1970.

Collector's piece of Romanian folk art, woven on a traditional vertical wooden loom.

Material: 100% hand-spun sheep wool (hand-spun with spindle, not industrial wool). Dense, heavy, and very durable flat-weave with wool warp.

Technique: Traditional Romanian flat-woven textile (Scoarta). The pattern is woven into the fabric by weft interlocking, not printed and not knotted.

Fully reversible textile - the pattern is identical on the front and back, with no loose threads on the reverse side. This is the main characteristic of a genuine handwoven Scoarta.

Design: Classic Moldavian floral design with three large stylized roses in intense red and fuchsia pink with blue details, surrounded by lush foliage in light green, turquoise and purple on a deep black ground. Narrow red border. Original vibrant colors very well preserved.
