This is a beautiful, hand-carved wooden Noh mask of "Ko-omote," used in traditional Japanese Noh theater. Ko-omote is a representative mask depicting a young, beautiful woman.
It features a highly delicate, neutral expression that allows the actor to convey various emotions through subtle movements.
The mask beautifully captures the classical Japanese aesthetic, complete with traditional details such as ohaguro (blackened teeth) and hikimayu (painted eyebrows high on the forehead). Hand-carved by a skilled craftsman, the piece showcases a smooth texture and meticulous attention to detail.

As you can see in the photo , the mask maintains its beautiful sculptural form overall,
but there is visible cracking in the polychrome paint on the surface.
There may also be slight signs of wear, minor scratches, or other age-related changes, so please carefully examine all the provided images for exact condition details.
Artist : Noh Mask
