La Martine Automatic 25 Jewels Day-Date – Nivarox Technology Edition – Gilded Cal. ETA 2788
Description from the seller
A Luxurious 1970s Swiss Classic with High-End Horological Tech: La Martine Automatic 25 Jewels featuring the Legendary Nivarox Seal.
We are proud to present a beautifully preserved and highly elegant Swiss automatic timepiece from the golden era of 1970s mechanical watchmaking, produced by La Martine. This specific model stands out as a premium execution, proudly displaying the historic Nivarox technology emblem on the dial—the rounded triangle housing the distinct letter "N". During this era, carrying the Nivarox seal on the dial served as an elite technical certification, guaranteeing that the watch was equipped with premium, anti-magnetic, and temperature-resistant hairspring components from Switzerland’s finest specialized assortment manufacturer.
The Mechanical Heart – Gilded Swiss Caliber ETA 2788
Inside beats an extraordinarily beautiful, fully yellow-gold finished Swiss automatic movement – the legendary caliber ETA 2788. Stamped with its official caliber number and the premium production hallmarks of Cortebert Dépraz ("CD" inside a circle) beneath the balance wheel, this high-grade 25 Jewels engine represents the peak of robust Swiss engineering from the 1970s. The rotor is beautifully engraved with "25 Jewels Automatic – Swiss Made". The movement is fully functional, winds beautifully via the automatic rotor, and keeps excellent time within vintage manufacturing standards. Both the day and date complications transition flawlessly.
The Dial & Aesthetics
The visual centerpiece of this watch is its brilliant sunburst gold-tone dial, adorned with gorgeous, highly raised applied indices featuring bold red inserts that give the face incredible three-dimensional depth and character. Positioned proudly above the name is the original stylized Nivarox "N" triangle logo. The dial is signed "T Swiss Made T", indicating original tritium luminous elements. The high-dome acrylic crystal is absolutely pristine and completely free of any scratches, providing a crystal-clear view of the magnificent gold layout.
The Case Design & Dimensions
The classic gold-plated cushion case features sharp geometry and a brilliant wrist presence, measuring a contemporary 36 mm in diameter (excluding the crown) x 41 mm lug-to-lug. The case shows only honest and light signs of regular historical wear that add to its authentic vintage character. The reverse is secured by a heavy stainless steel screw-down caseback signed with reference code 515 C-DD and technical specifications ("Stainless Steel Back – Antimagnetic").

Please keep in mind that these historic mechanical wristwatches are described exactly according to their condition, which was verified during cataloging, and are sold in their current authentic state without any documented service history. Although the watches are fully functional and keep accurate time at the moment of the auction, their long-term accuracy, power reserve, and water resistance cannot be guaranteed due to wear on parts caused by age, historical lubricants, changes in temperature and pressure, shocks, and changes in position during transport or wearing. This piece is sold as a collectible and investment item, so for maximum use of its potential and to ensure long-term reliability, regular checks and adjustments by a watch specialist are highly recommended.
"Important shipping restriction: Please note that due to strict regulatory and tax administrative complications regarding the EU SME scheme (Small Business Scheme) and specific customs regulations, shipping to Spain (including the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla) is strictly unavailable. Bids from buyers residing in these regions cannot be fulfilled, and orders will be canceled. Thank you for your understanding."
