The scene conveys the impression of a spacious and tranquil place designed for strolling and enjoying nature.

The trees dominate the sides of the composition. On the right, a wide dark trunk rises beside a leafy canopy that casts shadow on the path; on the left, the branches and leaves form a more irregular vegetal frame, allowing some bright clearings to be seen. The various shades of green, from deep and somber tones to fresher and brighter ones, suggest the density of the foliage and the variety of plants. Among the leaves are small bright glints that could be reflections of light filtering through the crowns.
