Antique Victorian Pink Sapphire Gold Brooch. 19th century.

A breathtaking, fine and impressive antique Victorian 18 carat yellow gold brooch with a textured floral pattern, delicately decorated with two facetted central beautiful old cut purplish pink sapphire stones and adorned with two small seeds pearls.

The brooch features a floral design which has been expertly set with 2 old cut vivid rose sapphire. The yellow gold has a richly crafted texture, adorned with chiseled or engraved motifs of naturalist style (evoking leaves or twisted scrolls), typical of Victorian-style jewellery.

The chiseled and textured work of the leaves as well as the closed setting style are typical of jewellery in the Victorian era.

At the back of the brooch we have a classic spring hinge setting with the entire piece being created from rich buttery 9 carat gold.
This would have been worn by a lady of good status in Victorian society.

The Victorian era saw a huge increase in designs and love for the natural form.
