Blue Bunny is part of a new series in which I explore a more abstract approach to figurative painting. A blue rabbit emerges from interlocking fields of colour, its silhouette becoming part of the surrounding movement. Flowing curves meet angular shapes, pressing against one another and creating tension as their boundaries merge and reappear.

Vivid blues contrast with warm reds, ochres and creamy whites. The rabbit’s alert presence anchors the composition, while the surrounding forms suggest other figures without fully revealing them. The painting invites the viewer to move between recognising familiar shapes and discovering new connections within the abstraction.
