卖家的描述
Remarkable historical ensemble of 25 military correspondence postcards and official acknowledgment receipts (1918) sent from prisoner of war camps in Germany during World War I.
The entire lot is addressed to Monsieur Jules Léon Jamin in Nantes, President of the General Council and of the Federation of Aid to Prisoners of War of Loire-Inférieure. These items served as acknowledgments of receipt for the control and routing of food parcels destined for mobilized internees.
Historical and military interest:
Direct link with the 65th Infantry Regiment (Nantes) / Friedrichsfeld Camp: presence of the Emil Renaudineau card (Baraque 32, registration 38546) and Pierre Pion (same Baraque 32), poilus captured and interned together at the camp.
Camp relief committees: Card of Sergeant Albert Marzard (69th R.I.), president of the camp committee at Altdamm with a large violet official stamp of the Federation. Card of Émile Landreau with stamp of the Darmstadt Relief Committee.
Accounts of daily life and provisioning: numerous letters detailing precisely the handwritten inventory of the received provisions (canned goods, chocolate, coffee, rice, beans, soap, tobacco, clothing), illustrating survival in 1918.
Represented regiments: 65th R.I., 135th R.I., 2nd Colonial (R.I.C.), 69th R.I., 82nd R.I., 164th R.I., 264th R.I., 81st and 85th Territorial.
Rich philatelic content and censures:
10 distinct German camps: Giessen, Friedrichsfeld bei Wesel, Minden, Münster I, Altdamm, Darmstadt, Wittenberg, Meschede, Gardelegen and Stuttgart.
Clean postmarks: stamps dated from German camps, censor marks (Geprüft, censor marks, imperial eagle of Giessen), linear strokes and Nantes arrival stamps.
Condition and conservation:
Authentic period cards that circulated (written on both sides with addresses, correspondence and acknowledgments).
Very good overall condition considering wartime use; light foxing, small marginal creases or ink smudges from the period possible on some items. The lot is kept in transparent protective sleeves individually.
Shipping:
Careful and secure dispatch by tracked and insured registered letter.
