traditional "tessito" craftsmanship
this labour-intensive technique is rooted in torre del greco's coral-working heritage. beads are carefully selected for size and colour, drilled, and woven together by hand using multiple needles and interlacing threads. the crossings create a flexible, three-dimensional pattern rather than simple strands. the even weave requires many hours of skilled work.
