Antique French Military Officer's Dress Belt Clasps (Late 19th / Early 20th Century). Unmarked (standard for privately purchased officer's gear). Diameter: 5 cm per disc.

Traditionally used by the French Gendarmerie Nationale, Garde Républicaine, and cavalry regiments.

• Silver-toned clasp worn by Officers and Senior NCOs of the Gendarmerie Nationale (French National Gendarmerie). French Gendarmerie regulations traditionally mandate silver/white metal for buttons and accoutrements.

• Gold-toned clasp worn by the Officers of the Garde Républicaine (Republican Guard) on their ceremonial dress uniforms, as well as French Army Staff Officers and Generals (Officiers Généraux) prior to the 1931 uniform reforms.
