We began 2011 season in greatshape , having won the Triple Crown titles in 2010 for the 3rd successive year .
21011 was also the year that Yamaha would celebrate its 50th anniversary of participation in the FIM Road Racing World Championship series . Finally the Yamaha Factory Racing Team was able to finish this season second in all standings thanks to the outstanding efforts of our riders , staff , sponsors , suppliers and partners .
There were many sporting highs including Ben Spies first MotoGP race win , Jorge Lorenzo's three race wins and second place in the Championship and a total of 14 podiums for the Yamaha Factory Team .
We also had the pleasure of seeing many og Yamaha's former racing stars back in action during the numerous special events that we organised to celebrate our 50 years anniversary in Grand Prix racing .
