Monika Kwarciak
Monika Kwarciak (born 1989 in Krakow, Poland) creates paintings using natural, organic and hand-prepared pigments, as well as acrylic paints. A painter and engineer who creates abstract compositions inspired by nature and its primal structures. In her artistic practice, she uses natural pigments from clays, sands and minerals, giving her paintings a distinctive organic texture and colour palette. Her work oscillates between abstraction and a record of experiencing nature, and her working process is based on the observation of natural phenomena. The artist treats painting as a form of dialogue with nature, in which the material is just as important as the final image.
