卖家的故事

Samantha Biddle is a British contemporary artist known for her vibrant and expressive animal portraiture. Working across acrylic paint, acrylic ink, watercolour, oils and mixed media, she combines recognisable animal subjects with energetic colour, intuitive mark-making and elements of abstract realism. Her animals are never simply studies of appearance. Each is treated as a character, capturing moments of curiosity, humour, tenderness and connection. Beneath their playful personalities, the paintings often carry quieter messages about individuality, belonging and the emotional bonds shared between people and animals. Biddle has worked within the arts for almost 30 years and is a qualified art educator with more than 25 years’ teaching experience. She has taught and supported artists internationally, helping students around the world develop their skills, confidence and individual creative voice. Today, Biddle works from her studio and intimate gallery at Fisherton Mill, an iconic converted Victorian grain mill and the South of England’s largest independent art gallery. Opened to the public in 1994, Fisherton Mill has become one of Salisbury’s best-known creative destinations and an important part of the city’s vibrant visual arts scene. She is also a resident artist at Unity Art Studios in Andover, where she has presented a solo exhibition. Her work has additionally been exhibited at Bowridge Gallery, Salisbury Library Gallery, Bath Art Fair and numerous art shows and exhibitions across the United Kingdom. In February 2024, her work appeared in House & Garden’s “The Art Edit” as part of a classified art showcase. This collection of original animal studies reveals the spontaneous foundations of Biddle’s wider practice. Loose, immediate and full of personality, each work celebrates the experiments and unexpected marks from which her larger paintings develop.
