Mount Gay Eclipse Black 100 Proof 于 [在 2012 年 - ES] 推出。它被作为限量版发布，酒精度达到 50%，香气强烈。 
该瓶装获得了很好的反响并很快售罄。因此 Mount Gay 决定推出更年轻、口味更轻的 Black Barrel，酒精度更低——至今仍在生产。  

若回到当时，Eclipse Black 的装瓶风格是丰富的深色、强烈且层次感十足的。我们只能推测（由于颜色和丰富的口感）该混合物比今日的年轻混合物要陈年得多。该瓶自十年前起就已售罄，现在也较为罕见。即使在全球网页上信息也很少。
