Decorative Chinese export porcelain plate, attributed to the East India Company, finely decorated with a richly coloured heraldic coat of arms at the centre, surmounted by a crown and crest. The armorial shield is hand-painted in vivid enamels with gilt highlights, reflecting skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The rim is embellished with a wide ornamental border featuring classical motifs in blue, gold, pink, and red, including scrolling elements, floral decorations, and geometric panels, characteristic of porcelain made for the European market during the 18th–early 19th century.
Such armorial pieces were commonly commissioned by noble or wealthy families and produced in China specifically for export through the East India Company, intended for ceremonial or decorative use.
The reverse is plain and unmarked, which is typical for Chinese export porcelain of this period.
