Vintage 1970s Retro Style Agon Chronograph Date Men’s Swiss Watch

This model was manufactured by the Swiss company Agon Chromatic Watch Corp. The large case features a chrome-plated finish with a brushed bezel and a stainless steel screw-back case. There are a few light age-related marks; however, the case is overall clean and well preserved. The original crystal is clear and clean, and the watch is fitted with a new leather strap.

The original silver-toned dial is beautifully complemented by blue sub-dials. It retains its original matching hands and features a date display at the 3 o’clock position.
The telemeter scale is used to measure the distance to an event that can be both seen and heard—traditionally applied to events such as lightning strikes.

Although technically a chronograph, this model is sometimes referred to as a “lap timer.” The upper sub-dial measures up to 15 minutes, while the lower sub-dial (at the 6 o’clock position) functions only as a running seconds display.

Before operation, the watch must be set precisely to 12:00, with the central chronograph seconds hand also aligned at 12 o’clock. In this position, both chronograph registers are at zero.

Pressing the upper pusher starts the chronograph.
Pressing the lower pusher stops the chronograph.
This watch does not have a reset function. If desired, the central seconds hand can be manually stopped at the 12 o’clock position. Timing continues until the lower pusher is activated. The upper register measures up to 15 minutes.
The dial is signed Agon 17 Jewels and Swiss Made, and remains in excellent original condition.
