Description
Rare and refined design vase by Glasfabriek Leerdam, after a 1950s design by master glass artist Andries Dirk Copier (1901–1991).
This piece embodies Copier’s celebrated modernist language: balanced, restrained and timeless. The subtle blue-grey body gently transitions into a deep cobalt blue core at the base, achieved through a sophisticated layering technique in which clear and coloured glass merge seamlessly.
The proportions are harmonious: a rounded body flowing into a slightly flared, elegant neck. From every angle, the vase presents itself as a sculptural object.

Unsigned, as is common with many Leerdam productions from this period, yet unmistakably recognisable through its form, glass thickness, colour gradation and finish — truly “signed all over”.

Vase de design rare et raffiné de la Glasfabriek Leerdam, d’après un modèle des années 1950 du maître verrier Andries Dirk Copier (1901–1991).

Cette pièce incarne parfaitement le langage moderniste de Copier : équilibre, sobriété et intemporalité. Le corps bleu gris délicatement voilé se fond dans un noyau cobalt profond à la base, obtenu par une technique de superposition sophistiquée où le verre clair et coloré fusionnent harmonieusement.

Les proportions sont parfaitement équilibrées : une panse galbée qui s’élève vers un col légèrement évasé et élégant. La silhouette est sculpturale et apaisante sous tous les angles.

Non signée — ce qui est courant pour les productions Leerdam de cette période — mais immédiatement reconnaissable par sa forme, son épaisseur de verre et son dégradé caractéristique. Une pièce “signée dans sa totalité”.
