This is a finely crafted bronze censer (香炉) by Japanese artisan Murata Hiroshi. The censer stands on three elegant legs and features twin handles in the form of stylized dragon heads. The body is adorned with a detailed relief of a phoenix (鳳凰) in flight among swirling clouds, a traditional symbol of peace, prosperity, and virtue.

The removable lid is intricately pierced with decorative openwork and topped with a lively shishi (lion-dog) finial holding a ball, representing protection and power. The lid’s detailed arabesque patterns complement the motifs on the body, reflecting refined Japanese metalworking techniques.

This censer can be used for incense burning in a traditional setting or as a fine decorative piece in an interior display. The base bears the maker’s mark.
