This is a cast copper vase by Houun, an artist of Takaoka Copperware, a traditional craft of Toyama Prefecture.
Product Details/Features
Material: Copper (cast copper).
Technique: The deep green color is achieved by applying a verdigris patina to high-quality bronze or copper alloy. The surface is intricately painted with large, gorgeous flowers, including peonies and chrysanthemums, using gold or silver paint (or inlay techniques).
Shape: The vase features a stable form known as a "Daruma" shape, with a plump bottom.
Artist (Seal): The "Houun" seal on the base is proof that it is a work by this artist.
